Everytime i startup my computer over, the avg 7.5 box comes up and says it is downloading new updates, this happens EVERYDAY and it’s really bothering me, i’d like to keep the AVG but what is the reason for all this updating?
Chosen Answer:
You have it set to automaticly update every time you boot your computer. While I agree that would get tiresome, when you go into your settings to turn the automatic update off? Don’t forget to manually update at least once a week. You would be vastly surprised what a difference those little updates can make in the security of your system.

You just need to set it so that it does not download it’s updates when you boot up your computer but at a different time.
AVG 7.5 has been replaced with 8.0.
Either upgrade to 8.0 (not recommended because it sucks) or use Avast which is better and still free.
Get it here: http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

Two words: “AVG Sucks” no offense to anyone but it is one of the worst anti viruses you could possibly have because the updates on it are 45 days behind, meaning that it is never fully up to date and its free so what do you expect. If you want a good anti virus you should get ESET Nod32, here is a link to the site:http://www.eset.com/
mine doesn’t update everyday. But when it does update, yeah it slows your computer down till it’s finished. YOu can always cancel the update. Better to just let it do it’s thing then your computer will be back to normal speed.
