If i already have McAfee, is there any need to download AVG Free antivirus?

I pay for McAfee, but i was just wondering if I would get more for the buck downloading AVG Free antivirus. Which is free.

Chosen Answer:

McAfee doesn’t really do anything especially if your a Curious George and go to all different kinds of websites. AVG, if used correctly can protect you from all types of virus but in with AVG you should also download a spyware blocker because AVG doesn’t protect against ad/spyware.

Never install and run two antivirus softwares in the same computer. If you want another antivirus for a second opinion, go for online scanners like TrendMicro Housecall.

    hey whats up?
I currently have McAfee thru comcast, and I also installed avg 8.0 free. I like the AVG because it puts a green check mark next to the good search results. I havent had any problems.

i dont think so. just only install one antivirus.besides,
the mcafee is paid, so u dont need avg anymore.
but if u really want, here is the link to download
    avg free :

but a malware remover is needed too. for malware remover, i
    recommend u malwarebytes.
here is the download link for malwarebytes :

    try zone alarm firewall too.

dont worry. every software that i recommend you is free and you
    dont need to buy it.

    hope this will help.

Not sure which McAfee product you have but I think all their products have anti-virus so you should be fine. The only issue with AVG is since it’s free, good luck contacting anyone if you have any issues with it or you want to remove it from your hard drive. I know someone that couldn’t get in contact with anyone from AVG and they ended up sending their computer in to professionals to have the software removed…
