AVG Is AVG Free just a scanner that will remove viruses after they are already on your computer or will it stop virus from getting on your computer ?
What does AVG Pro do that AVG Free does not do ?

AVG anti-virus is also a real-time virus protection program. Like you said, it will protect your system from new infections as well as remove existing ones.
The Pro version has some extra features such as Enhanced User Interface, Script Blocker, Command Line Scanner, Push Updates, and a Task Scheduler. Check out the link below for the full difference list. (compare the two products on the right)
The main advantage of Pro as far as the anti-virus goes, is that you get more than the Once a Day update that comes with the free version, and Pro lets you change the scanning schedule as well, whereas the free version doesn’t. Of course for full protection, you should think about a security suite that offers a firewall and anti-spyware features as well.
